Default Snow

Wow,
4 feet of snow so far in Orchard Park, NY. Home of my favorite carb/pump rebuilder. What happened to Charlie? Please send me a message. Thanks,
John

The key words are "so far" as there lots more forecast for the weekend; classic lake effects snowfall.

I just saw a news report that said 59" in Orchard Park. (but news reports often get it wrong on still-breaking news)

Have to feel for all the people under this snowstorm, and right as they go into a travel holiday next week. I feel fortunate to be on the upwind side of the great lakes.

Pfft! That's nothing. More like snow flurries. How about 12ft near Oswego a while back?.

I always wondered why they located the Buffalo airport right in the heart of the where the heaviest snowfalls are recorded.

For the same reason they locate desert airports in the locations of the least rain. Sunny and 75 here today.

Hello, Ed from Orchard Park NY here.
So far 77 inches here. I have a Kubota diesel for lawn & snow duty. Can't push the snow anymore, have to use the bucket to lift & relocate the snow
Had to dig out the drier & furnace vents last night. Lived here all my life, we deal with it,
Talked to a old HS bud who lives just south of Daytona, he's replacing dry wall, insulation, wiring, & salt water rotted studs in his kitchen. My response to him was that I have never had snow in my kitchen.....I'll take the snow
Later today I'm going skiing out the back yard...love it!!! Like I said we deal with it

I live about 2 mi from Charlie, Good bud, I see him pretty regularly. He's busy every day doing his flathead stuff
I'll try to post some pics here later

I hope you are joking.

If not, perhaps you may take a bit of time and to understand what global warming actually does to the weather patterns.

Charlie sent an email last night (Friday) at about 10:40 PM and said 4 feet of snow and still coming down. He seems to be doing fine.

Its not global warming, Its global climate disruption. Regardless, Buffalo and surrounding areas got a boat load of snow.

Ok. Global climate disruption, as a result of global warming. And global sea level rise, too.

For those of us that do have snow --- suggest that the folks in Western NY start to practice space management.

For those who only see pictures of snow, that means -- start piling it up as far away as you can, so you have room later, what will come later.

Time to practice space management.

Wow! No perfect place to live as far as I know,,, it doesn't exist.

Tell Charlie 'Hi' he is a really good guy. He did a distributor rebuild for me after another much vaunted individual that was 'supposedly' an expert on Flathead dissy's screwed it up royally Then claimed it worked fine. ( A more severe swear word came to mind but let's keep it civil)

Charlie did an excellent job on it. He made it right!

I remember the blizzard of 77. (Grew up in South Buffalo) And plenty of other years with lots of snow. There's a few other places around the lakes that often get more snow. Nobody ever hears about it though. Buffalo gets all the news. Sometimes Erie PA.
