Now here's a 41 Ford you probably haven't seen
One of three made in 1941 by Brook Stevens.
More about it, including more pictures, here: http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...tml?refer=blog

Cool lookin' but its been updated with a modern steering wheel & column and a microwave... I didn't see any write up, does it still have a Flathead in it?

No, the write-up says it has a 460 and AOD.

It was later modified by Howdy Ledbetter.

If you would like to see something like what it would have started off like, I found this page.
It does mention Ford V8 and a front wheel drive system. That allowed better headroom, and handily keeps it on topic! http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2...ns-motorhomes/ Mart. |

Re: Now here's a 41 Ford you probably haven't seen
The museum is/was in Mequon, Wisconsin a northern suburb of Milwaukee. As a Geezer, I can honestly say that I was there many times. But not since the mid 1970's. For a smaller place, They really had a lot of nice stuff there. If my memory is correct, his sons were building cars in a factory in West Allis, Wisconsin in the late 70's also. The cars were called Excaliburs. They went out of business in 1980/81 - I think. Can anyone add to this ?

Re: Now here's a 41 Ford you probably haven't seen
The museum had an elec motorcycle, electric Lark and lots of other interesting things. As I remember Stevens designed the elec shift for Cord. There was also a strange supposed one off car there with a x engine that lsort of looked like a 50s Renault. Story was it was built for a rich owner in New England.
