Tubular Shock Link Grease Seal

Should the grease seal for the tube type shock link look like this? Seems to me the hole in seal should be centered to the opening in the cup. In my case, the seal is an aftermarket part and the cup is original.

Okay....I think I have this correct.
There are 2 styles of opening for the shock links,...the "round hole"
and the "oval hole". IF you have the oval hole, they are correct. The
round hole is early. I think you answered your own question in
Pluck's question.
Also note....the "tin" shields are different from early too late.

I have oval holes in the shock links for my 1930 A. The grease seal is the oval type found at most suppliers. With the pictured setup and the hole in the rubber seal that appears too offset, the post for the shock arm and perch will rub on the metal cup.

I see what your saying,.....I thought it was a shadow! Maybe the vendor
should know about this,.....how could they screw up a simple part like this!
I'd like too know were you purchased them(PM).....I could use some also!

I found three different rubber seals in the parts bin. Number 1 on the left was bought a year or so ago. Numbers 2 and 3 are from unknown suppliers, perhaps from the 70's. These two are better than 1 because the hole has more than enough rubber to keep the post away from the metal cup. They are also a little taller but I'm not sure if that will help or not. Number 2 is wider for a better fit in an original metal cup. Number 3 has a step on the post grease side for an even better seal. None have a radius that matches an original shock link. I'd like to compare these to an original seal or perhaps even better to a Ford drawing. Such a simple part to get right.
