Default 3D printing saves an heirloom.

I have visited this workshop and been impressed by their work in the past. I'm no less impressed by this effort. Having a later Delage nearly completed in my workshop, I took a particular interest in this one.

That is a good use of the new technology. I know a guy that casts new Duesenberg blocks and transmission cases. He does it with cored molds. This might be helpful.

I was waiting for this to happen. Not for engines but more for small parts that are now made for shore. But either way it is cool!

Jay Leno has a 3D printer in his shop for replicating knobs and such... but then again he has everything else in his shop too. 8^)

Very cool video! It's great that some people can see the future and use what is coming along. Even out in the bush! LOL

In the 70's I owned a Ducati motorcycle with a desmodromic equiped engine. Impossible to float the valves. Incorporated small hairpin springs to close valve the last .010- .015 thousandths. Ducati still makes certain engines with the desmodromic design.

Yep, and they are the only ones I know of that uses it. About 1980 I had a chance to buy a Ducati 350 Desmo for $300, and stupid me didn't buy it.
Those are nice bikes.

My understanding is the Lois Delage entered GP racing in one year only - with those cars. They were 1500cc (91.5ci). He won the championship and didn't bother again - there was nowhere to go from winning in your first year.
I may be biased (I have one) but I regard Delage cars as the French Roll Royce but far more technically advanced.
