I like the Les Andrews Vol 1 red book.

The tiny tips book is also pretty good.

the Les Andrews books, all 3 of them. Clear photos and drawings, modern techniques, and good safety advice.
These are available from both MAFCA and MARC and also from any of the major vendors...Brattons, Snyders, Berts, Mikes, etc.
Easily the best information you can buy.

I don't need a manual to tell me what to do.

To me the best Model "A" manuals are all 3 Les Andrews books and the Judging Standards. With this you can answer most questions in a Model "A"

I have wondered about the book written by Vic Zannis "Rebuilding the Model A Powerplant". I understand it only covers the engine but is it as good as advertised?

Mine is the book of MANUAL LABOUR.
I have most of the restoration books. But as I've travelled through-out the USA going to different swap meets I enjoy picking up back issues of the RESTORER. I enjoy the personalized "stories" about the different authors. Jeff

I bought " The First Fifty Years" of Restorer on a stick a couple months back and use it all the time.
