Re: 1937 Ford/Early Ford V8 shift knobs
The hood ornament pictured appears to be a Ford Motor Company accessory :
Locking Hood Ornament (Part No. 78-18385). Information about this accessory can be found on page 6-6 in the Early Ford V-8 Club of America's reference book which is titled THE 1937 FORD BOOK. The gear shift knobs pictured are not stock Ford gear shift knobs for 1937; these appear to be some sort of accessory or promotional item. They are not original equipment. |

shift knobs, I don't know if the are original but they are very neat in the least, especially the V8 THRILL knob.

There are shift knobs floating around out there that appear to be old, but they are not. See them sold on e-Bay frequently.

Re: 1937 Ford/Early Ford V8 shift knobs
thanks for responding. I found these shift knobs and got them because they look cool..not knowing how old they were. I'll probably run one or the other on the car. as for the hood ornament in the picture....I collect aftermarket hood ornaments for the '37 ford. I have 10-12 of them..and that's the tip of the iceberg of how many different ones were produced..around 34. I would love to find the origins of these shift knobs though.
