As has been said, all black fenders.. For $35K, you could buy two cars in that shape.... and I'd guess he, not is Momma wants the 57' Chevy... Items craigslist are like a box of chocolates...

Yes, I believe that some of the Ford Model A Coupes came with green fenders. In fact, one of our (I have not seen him post in a while) Ford Barn Forum posters had a photo of his as his avitar. I think he sold it, so we may not have the opportunity to see it again. Bright green - you can't miss it.

And, as you know, if it is in print or photo, it MUST be true.
I see also that the seller of this car also has a Bridge on Ebay for sale.

[QUOTE=Steve Plucker;931328]However the "rest of the story" is this...

Ford issued, on June 5, 1931, a Service Letter (Indianapolis Branch) that "Effective June 1 (1931), all requests for special colors on cars or trucks purchased by COMMERCIAL CONCERNS FOR COMMERCIAL USE will be handled as follows:..."

In other words the "Chassis complete, including frame, front and rear axles, springs, front and rear fenders, running board shiels, splash shields and wheels"...could be painted "one solid color" other than black.

The Service Letter is very extensive.

However, this is a 1930 Model A and I doubt the offer was offered then at any branch.

HOWEVER...To answer the OP's post "Did A's ever come with green fenders?"...Yes they did.

Pluck[/QUOT

I think it's more, yes they could have, rather than yes they did in 1931.

Is that an alternator I see in the engine pic? Let's see, possible alternator, roadster top rests, tires, what else? And for only $35 large! What a deal!

"All Original" - That means different things to different people.
Painted to an original color, means - "Original".
This car has, obviously, been "restored".
That white firewall is a dead give away. This car, looks like, it has had several paint jobs, through it's lifetime.
It is a nice "A", but at $35,000.00 - not for me.

It looks like the fenders may be black but covered in pollen or dust. Some of the pictures, like the drivers side toward the rear fender, they look black but dusty. Still waaaaay overpriced and Id be willing to bet my life its got a lot more than 10,000 miles.

Let's be generous, and say the fellow (and his "Mother") is naive. And remember, he did not ask for $35,000. It is important to note : "OBO" - BEST OFFER. I'll go $12,000 - IF it performs flawlessly, as an original 10,000 mile car should.

My first question to somebody offering an "ALL-original" car is for the date-code on tires, brake pads, and battery. That usually takes care of that claim. And, yes, I have bought cars with all original everything, including brake pads, with the sole exception of the battery and fluids. The last one was a 1954 Jaguar XK-120 with 1,841 miles on the clock, back in the early 1990s. These cars still exist, but I doubt that an all-original Model A exists anywhere on the planet.

Also the head nuts are painted. I don't think this is a 10K original "survivor" Model A.

Right but he said "IT IS ALL ORIGINAL INCLUDING PAINT JOB" ...and also... "THIS CAR HAS NEVER HAD ANY KIND OF BODY WORK". That's not open to interpretation.

That is a very pricey Deluxe Coupe especially since there were not Deluxe Coupes in 1930...I'd say the car was "deluxified".

And since when does "best offer" really mean best offer. It really means "best offer I like".

This car is NOT by any means original. Nor is it a 35k car. Maybe 10-12K for a nice driver, which it could well be.

I agree with many of the above comments, I sum up by saying this - Original ??? Just a figment of some-ones imagination... Look at the pics and how many non original pieces do you see. A fun driver at best, $35. big ones ??? NO WAY...
