it was an ebay sale but at the time ebay owned paypal which they have recently sold off. it made me angry cause the buyer never even tried to contact me per the ebay rules and they just took the money out of my bank account which caused several overdrafts for which the bank charged me like 35. each. i only keep enough money in that account to do paypal and my purchases cause i don't trust people having my bank info. bad deal.

I have heard of this happening on ebay sales, in fact it seems to be happening a lot. However, PayPal can be used almost anywhere on the internet and in a lot of local stores. I have never heard of this going on except on ebay so I was assuming the issue is with ebays policy toward sellers and not directly with PayPal. You can use PayPal direct with sellers (not connected to internet sales) and money transfers to family members, etc. It is almost instant and I use it a lot.

I have sold many parts on Fordbaen and the AACA site and I will always take a Money Order, over a personal check. You have no idea if the check is good or not, but the Money Order can always be cashed at a bank.

Same here never a problem with a Money Order from USPS.

The Post Office to me isn't a bank, I wouldn't go there to cash a check our little PO probably wouldn't have hardly any money in their cash drawer anyway to handle this. What if it had been for $650?? Or more??

Naw, go to the Bank they'll take care of you..........

You don't want to ever lose or damage a PO money order. I have a parrot that likes to chew on papers and cardboard and such. One day the parrot got hold of an incoming envelope that had a money order inside and chewed it up, but you could still read the ID numbers on it.

I figured it would be no problem but boy was I wrong. It takes 6-9 months to reissue a new one for a lost or damaged one.

I have found on the few items I've bought that many sellers want a Postal MO, and that's just fine. But I'll also send a personal check, if acceptable, with a note saying to cash the check before sending the item, if that'll work.
I've been stiffed by a member here, but only once
