Default What is it?

1930 A Coupe. Sorry I don't have a picture. It may be some type of shock absorber. Not the hydraulic kind bit a piece of rubber between two discs of steel. One end goes on a dog bone and the other bolts to the frame right at the cross member. Two mounting ears broken off and I can weld these back on. What do I have here? Thanks

sound like a friction shock absorber. Yes, I would think you could weld it back together.

Did some more digging. This seems to be a Hassler friction shock absorber. Many different kinds made and this one seems to have been used on a Model T maybe as an option. Does this say anything about my 1939 A?
