Default Van Pelt true to form

Ok so I needed another V8 60 water pump kit and I knew I had purchased
the last one at Macs/Ecklers....I rang up Mac Van Pelt and got the man
himself, sure enough he had what I needed. Mac establishes a person to person relationship with people, never forgets a name or a part. Reminds me
of the way it was 'back in the day'.

Mac operates that way because Shelly keeps him on the straight and narrow. (Grin)

Mac is great! I always refer to his website, I've bought his books, ordered parts from him. Outstanding resource for our hobby.

The flip side is Red's. I always call them and they say, "We don't have that. Call back later" I asked if I could place an order and he send it when it comes in. "Nah.. I don't want to loose the note that you ordered something."

Back to praising Mac. Good people!!

I recently rebuilt a '39 three speed transmission and Mac was exceptionally helpful. When I received my parts in the mail Shelly had even included a note saying "Hello". Thanks Mac and Shelly for being such a positive and helpful asset to this hobby. It is much appreciated!

Just brought some starter motor bits from him.....good old fashion service, I even got to say hello to Shelly which was nice, as she replied to one of my e-mails.

They are good folks and good for the hobby. Mac walked me through, by phone, an early '37 Ford transmission rebuild that I was doing about 10 years ago, using the later '46-'48 gears and '39 top. This was before his book was available.
I have also bought parts from him that I could no find anywhere else.

Add my praises to the list. I just did a rebuild on a 1950 Ford f-1 floor shift 3 speed that I swapped in the 48 car side shift gears and rear bearing retainer to make it a torque tube trans ala 1939.
We corresponded by e-mail and when I called and talked to Mac personally he kind of chuckled and said. "You know that you are doing it backwards from everyone else. I like it". His book is essential to working on these transmissions. Plus he won't sell you something that you don't need and his parts WORK. Great people.
Just ordered a clutch disc from them.

Now, this a testimonial to the "good" in the hobby. People who care about you and will go the extra mile to get you good quality parts. I have never dealt with Mac, but if I need to, I know where to go and get good service!
