Default Neil Wilson...finish on the bolts for rear window frame...

Neil,

What is the correct finish for the small nuts, bolts and lockwashers which hold the rear window and window frame to the back of a Closed Cab body? I know the frame is Gloss Black Enamel...what about the Standard Parts?

Thanks.

Steve,
Attached is a picture of what I think the hardware should be.

Also attached is a 6-20-28 Ford archive photograph (a crop showing the rear of the cab). Quality is poor. But, one can kind of see that the machine screw is bright and and the nuts are not.

Note that there is not a list of hardware in the body parts lists which can be used. I think that the nut and lock washer was raven. But definitely not bright. Also note that the machine screw does not have a blunt end (it is a little cone shaped). I don't know of anyone making them. Most of this type of machine screws were like this. But, the ends can't be seen (like where used in the garnish moldings).

Steve, The marine industry is big on these type of screws. That is where I would start looking at. They are usually Brass bolts with either chrome or nickel finish. Don

Correct finish on the screws is Nickel Plate...not sure about the nut and lockwasher but as Neil says above they may be BO (Raven) or black or even (not to confuse the issue) body color????

Not much of a chance that the nuts are body color since the rear window frame was installed after painting. Ford didn't provide an inventory of different color nuts as far as I know.
