Default 36 Pickup spline adapter

Who is the best source for a 6 spline to 10 spline adapter? Is the coupling the same as the adapter? Thx Steve

The 10X6 adapter IS the coupling. The adapter will only connect an early 10-spline pinion to a late 6 spine solid drive shaft. These were made by Ford probably for transitional implementation of the change-over. The adapter is often used as a source of 10-spline female material to build custom tube drive shafts.

The six spline half of a 10x6 spline coupler/adaptor can also be used to replace the ten spline bung end of an early tubular driveshaft, if you are putting a six spline R&P set in an early rear, and do not want to use a solid driveshaft with center bearing torque tube, this might be the best way to go.
Some of those 10x6 spline couplers/adaptors are larger in diameter than the original Ford 6x6 spline coupler/adaptor. I don't believe that larger diameter would cause any problems regardless of how you plan to use it. JMO

I have a later 3:54 R&P 6 spline and a 10 spline drive shaft. I saw a coupler at Mac's and wanted to be sure it would work for my application. Thanks!
