Title or no title
A while back I saw on here somewhere about how to get a title when you have a car without one. A freind of mine bought a car out of Canada & they don't have titles up there. Need some help here anyone, thanks

Re: Title or no title
Don't assume you need a title to get one. If it is correct that where you got the car didn't have titles ,your state should accept a bill of sale . We went through that in Massachusetts. They did not require titles prior to 1973 . My uncle bought his car in 1969. We went to the MBA with it and got a title,

Re: Title or no title
In my state(Indiana) if you have a bill of sale the BMV will give you paper work to be filled out by a Police officer then you can apply for a title. Involves a search for stolen vehicles. Not difficult but time consuming, I think each state is different. Check with your BMV.

Re: Title or no title
Alabama only requires a bill of sale and current insurance for vehicles 35 years and older. The bill of sale needs to contain:
(a) Cost of vehicle and date of sale. (b) Full description of the vehicle and VIN number. (c) Complete name and address of the new owner.

No matter what you have to meet your states requirements - Some are easy, Some are not
SEMA has a run down by State here http://www.semasan.com/page.asp?cont...tling&g=semaga

Re: Title or no title
I would ask you own DMV the question first- try to get some one up the line a bit. I have run into a ton of misinformation... California was real easy for me, I was pretty straight forward- so were they.
