Re: Ford V8 Trucks 1940
Your welcome. I always do a search on youtube for 1940 ford . Sometimes you get a good result. I always like to pass it on because if we rate and like the video the poster may upload some other V8 Ford video.

Re: Ford V8 Trucks 1940
Like the movie suggests "trucks were the backbone of America." Ford's advertising that fact highlights the importance of keeping some of these workhorses on the road for posterity to see. That 40 Tonner hauling the eggs to market sure looks familiar. Thanks for sharing.....

Re: Ford V8 Trucks 1940
This video was a real treat, as I have a 1940 1 ton pickup and a 1940 COE. When you stop and think, this country was built with trucks using automobile engines that were geared down. I have a 1948 F-6 COE tractor trailer, and run it with the accelerator to the floor, hoping to hit 50 MPH, and that's with an empty trailer! I don't know what it would do loaded.Of course they had only two lane roads back in the day, so Fifty wasn't too bad. Bob Malley

Re: Ford V8 Trucks 1940
Real fond memories from my younger days when nearby neighbors (L.P. Moore paint co.) had a one ton dark blue cab with a silver dump body and a long dirt drive way which they scraped with a steel drag behind that truck. Not to mention the daughter had a green 1940 Mercury convertible and the family drove a tan 1941 woodie. Their Handyman/driver also played with cars. He had a Mercer in the barn, a Stutz under it and an MGTD to cruise in daily ! I was given the Mercer radiator badge. Unfortunately, the Mercury and woody were lost in a fire some years later at another location. Not sure where that great little truck ended up.
