Default '53 Customline Clutch Push Rods

I am going through the clutch pushrods on a '53 Customline.

The bolts are stepped and use wave washers.

The hole that the bolts are inserted into are "D" shaped.

It all looks a bit odd.

Is there meant to be a bush of some kind that goes into these rods?

It has been too long since I had those parts off my car for memory. Looking at the 49-59 Ford Chassis Parts Catalog I only see the bolt and the wavy washer. I think the "D" shape in your parts is the result of modification and/or wear.
