Headlight question
I just put my headlite bar on - the cups in the bar slope down- I mount the headlites on and pivot them all the way forward. My lights still point up about 3-5*. Any thoughts on that is wrong ?
Thanks Lee |

Re: Headlight question
Are your pivots (in the headlight buckets) free ?
I had trouble with mine, no matter how you set them, the headlight would go back to the same position when you tighten the nut. I had to drill out the rivets for the stud retainers and clean out the swivel pockets and the mounting studs. |

Re: Headlight question
The buckets are free and tilted all the way forward.

Re: Headlight question
Can you put the bar on backwards ? I've been away from my car for a long time and can't go look.

Re: Headlight question
The cups in the bar currently slope down, if I turned the bar around they would slope up making the problem worse-- I think

Re: Headlight question
I'm afraid you'll need to try another headlamp bar to be sure. I've seen a couple that were obviously twisted to fit different headlights. And no, the twist was NOT obvious in general appearance as they were done well but comparing to another was surprising.

Re: Headlight question
Not sure what you mean by sloping up or down. The sockets are sloped somewhat towards the front, not the back. That is if you put a straight edge across the top of the socket, the end of the straight edge facing the front of the car would be lower than the end of the straight edge facing the rear of the car.

Re: Headlight question
Sorry I wasn't more clear. The cup on the bar does indeed slope down to the front as you describe. Maybe as much as 10*, so if that is correct then my problem is in my headlite bucket ???

Re: Headlight question
Taking a hint from Great Lakes Greg-"If it is broke you can't break it"-
I took a 21" pipe wrench with a 36" cheater and formed (twisted)the headlite bar until the proper angle was achieved. Some times it just takes guts. |
