Default Left Door Slide Lock

Anybody got a 30-31 driver's door cut open to see what I'm missing, (or turned around the wrong way)
I rebuilt my door latches (new spring kits) put the door back together, everything works great (opens and closes like it should)
THEN I replaced the slide lock (a repo, since old one was broken), but it doesn't seem to do anything. I can't figure out what is missing, I can't see what the slide lock is even supposed to contact to lock the door, so obviously I've left something out, or ???

Thanks again
Scott

I'm not sure if these pictures of my 29 Tudor will help, but it might help to see how the lock works. The slide lock pushes the metal bar to block the handle from turning.
