Default New Windsheild Frame

OK Guys,
I need a confidence builder -
I've got a brand new windsheild frame for my '31 closed cab p/u
(old one was pretty rusty, glass not real good either) and a new windsheild to install.
Anybody got any tips on installing new glass in the frame, or take both to a glass shop ?
I got the door glass in without an 'incident' - just got the windsheild and rear window to go, and been kind of dreading the windshield, but have enjoyed every 'chalenge' this truck has given me......
Thanks

if you have not installed a windshield glass before find someone who has and watch, maybe next time you can do it yourself, they are not that hard to do but they can be tricky at times, and if you deside to go ahead and do it, put the glass in the frame without any seal around it first and make sure the glass is cut right because a lot of them are not cut right for the frame.

Just got mine put in yesterday and watched it get done. It took them about 5 minutes. They wrapped the glass with the cork, taped it down with clear tape, sprayed it with soap, and it slid right in. At one point it took an extra set of hands to keep it lined up.

After seeing it done, I will do my own.

I take mine to Vintage Glass USA, and have it done professionally. I dont want to crack a new glass.

I've heard nothing but GOOD about Vintage Glass. My brother had his 80 vette driver's window done there. Excellent work and reasonable (cheap compared to other shops he got quotes from).

Vintage Glass in Tolland Ct. has all the patterns including windwings for Model A's and other Fords. I replaced a side window recently, brought the broken one down and he replaced it including the metal slide and rubber in ten minutes, perfect fit. Good guy to work with.
