Default 1950 sedan paint

I started researching the colour for my 50 again and came across a 51 that was “alpine blue” that looks pretty similar to what’s left on my car, the code on the firewall plate says the paint code is 40, cross referenced on glasurit it says paint code 40 is alpine blue, the paint chip charts I’ve found don’t list alpine blue for 50 just Bimini blue and Sheridan blue, my car is also Canadian is that made a difference in paint options
I found this 51 in alpine blue and it looks close to mine, it seems to be an uncommon colour

The color code is found in the Cowl Code for US produced models.

EX: DA-C73-4-41-15L-102

DA= Dearborn
C73= Custom Deluxe Fordor
4= Meadow Green
41= Custom Deluxe Mohair
15= Day of Month Built
L= Month of Year
102= Scheduled item number

Color code for the Blues:
Sheridan Blue= 5
Bimini Blue Metalic= 6

So it seems the codes differed with the Canadian cars?

That’s what I thought at first, when I looked it up last year I figured it was Bimini blue

Do you have a code stamped into the cowl? It would be above the seam between the firewall and cowl.

Nothing stamped on the body itself from what I can see, just the two plates

Did they have different shades? I mean did it vary from factory to factory?

If you are looking for paint that matches the existing paint on your car then any auto paint store worth it's salt can scan and match what you have.
(forget about color codes and 60 year old paint chips)
Posting the color on a computer for comparison is a crap shoot as each computer will render colors differently.
