Default Is Woodart still in business?

I'm a Fordbarner based in New Zealand where there are probably more old Ford buffs per head of population than anywhere else in the world. We often have to rely on various US services to keep our hobby going. I've had an order in with Woodart for a 34 cabriolet package tray (where would you find another?) since March and have no further communication. Likewise with the Bradley Floorpans people, at least they make promises they don't keep, I guess its communication of a sort. On the plus side almost all of my dealings with individual Fordbarners have gone very well, with only one exception.

I've read the comment about woodart before. I've also heard he is hard to contact. I got a wood kit from him awhile back, and it was perfect and top quality. I hope he is still doing his thing - I will be needing more.

Try Roy Nacewicz. He makes a lot of wood parts not which are far superior to anything Woodart ever made, great guy to deal with too.

I waited two years for him and never got the wood if you email him every six months he acts like you're harassing him

Do you have a pattern or drawings for one?. I have a mate here at Whangaparaoa who does vintage car woodwork and does fantastic work. Tony

It would seem that c334charlie's experience is not unique. The sense that I have is that if he has a particular item left in the inventory of what he received when he bought the business from Bob Sevlie years ago, you will receive it. If not, all the followups in the world will not result in any new work being created, even if very business like and spaced six months apart as stated. He continues to advertise in The V-8 Times which seems less than forthright, at least to me.

KiwiTony, unfortunately I do not have a plan or diagram. If I did I'm pretty sure that I could make one too. I've got all the woodworking gear. If anyone has a diagram or scale drawing I would appreciate a look.

I've talked with Roy Nacewicz, who was really helpful, but he unfortunately did not have the drawings for this particular part. If only all suppliers were as obliging and friendly as Roy!

I am not aware of any wood at the rear other than the package tray for '39 coupes.
There is some thin curved fibreboard material to give the headlining some shape, and I think some composite tacking strips, but no other wooden bits that I can remember.
However Kube will know for sure.

I had problems with woodart over a wood set for a model T and it took months and months to get any resolution. Still ended up with some wrong stuff. Very hard to communicate with and very condasending.

I also had problems with WoodArt. I live close enough to drive the 2 hours to his shop. We worked it out, but I would NOT recommend him to anyone. Nice website, but no sign of any work getting done. I actually offered to buy the business as I am looking for a small business that would benefit the hobby. He wasnt selling at that time. Maybe I should try again....
