Something you don't see every day
Attended a meet at my friend's farm on Saturday and saw this truck there, something you don't see every day for sure. Thought some of the MH guys would like to see it.

Re: Something you don't see every day
Thanks for the pictures. What's the story behind it? Those aren't regular car/half ton pickup axles.

Re: Something you don't see every day
Thanks for posting this article. It is very interesting . I know nothing aboyt M_H products. Is it a Ford converted to 4-wheel drive? Looks like a 38 Ford grille.

That is a 37 and a rare bird indeed. During the late 30's our military had to do with very little in the way of new equipment and a lot of civ converted vehicles instead of mil std stuff.

Re: Something you don't see every day
I will get some more info from the guy if I can and post it. I spend a lot of time looking it over that day. Wish it were mine. As you can see it had the heavier axles and drive line under it.

Re: Something you don't see every day
Got some more information on this truck,
Only one made by MH for the US Army (prototype). 1937 full sized Ford on a 2 ton chassis intended to pull artillery guns around. Army found a less expensive option. Truck was shipped to Belgium then to Holland, truck was taken by the Germans September of 1939. |
