The 7.50" was spec'd for a 5.00" rim, and the 8.25" was spec'd for a 6.00" rim. Generally there was a half inch over/under in the permissible range. Stu

8.25s may be too close together on the duals unless there is sufficient rim width to provide enough offset. ..B.

The National Wheel and Rim Association published their standards for tire/rim fitment annually. Wheels were manufactured to afford the necessary width and offset to meet those standards within permissible over and under limits. An 8.25" tire on a 6" rim will not rub, but probably would on a 5" rim. And Pete, those 7.50s probably work ok, but are a stretch on a 6.5" rim. Stu
