17" fan vs 15" fan
All of the experience I have had with 6 blade fans is that they make a lot of noise. Questionable as to benefit otherwise.
I have a 6 blade 17" fan that I think I'll put on and see what it does. What experience have you had with 6 blade 17 inch fans? It should pull more air, but what about noise?

I am using a 17 in stainless 6 blade flex fan. No noise problems. Click on photo to enlarge.

Jim (19Fordy)......You already know what I think about your set-up........LOVE it! By the way, that other guy in north Florida you helped with his fan set-up.......on a 93 degree day recently, and after going for a drive to get up to temp, then idling in driveway for extended time only resulted with 210 MAX on right bank, and I believe 205 on the left. And that's with NO shroud. DD

Re: 17" fan vs 15" fan
Do they by chance make such a fan for the generator mount? I doubt it.

Re: 17" fan vs 15" fan
Just asking more than anything else. I did run a little on the "warm" side a few days ago. Ambient temperature was a little above 90 degrees, and my foot was a little heavy on the gas pedal. I have both a 15" and a 17" 6 bladed fan and I was just musing on what effect the 17" fan might have. I have never run one.
And V8coopman, I believe the 17" fan will work without hitting the upper hose, but I will check it out to be sure it will clear before taking anything loose. LOL Lawson

Re: 17" fan vs 15" fan
The hub lengths vary for different year fans. You want the front of the blades 1/2 to 3/4" from the radiator fins. If to far away air is pulled from the sides and not through the fins. G.M.

Re: 17" fan vs 15" fan
The hub is 2.5 inches and within your proscribed measurements.
