Smile Ford Tri Motor Coming To OKC

Well we have been invited to come have pictures made with the Ford Tri Motor at the Sundance Airpark on Thursday. With so many retired Air Force officers in the club and aviation enthusiasts we are pretty excited about the opportunity. I know many clubs and groups and had this same privilege. We may even get a seat or two on the plane for a ride.

Sounds like fun! Just be sure the rubber bands are wound up nice and tight...

What a great day we had. The plane was fantastic and we got a couple of free seats. What a great opportunity for some pictures with two 80 plus year old legends. In the right seat, is on of our club members, who as I pilot I am sure was tickled to be up there.

The Tri-Motor was in Wisconsin Rapids, WI over the Labor Day weekend. This airport actually had a Tri-Motor and a specially made hanger years ago. Unfortunately, the plane was destroyed in a tornado but the hanger is still there. It was great to go for a ride on the airplane.

The tri motor was in frederick a couple of weeks ago, although I didn't see it up close, they flew over the house about 30 times. Really cool

I had the time of my life back in the late 60s, to have two rides in a Tri Motor at Sandusky, Ohio. After the short ride to a near by Island, the pilot said if I wanted a GOOD ride, come back at 9:00am and take the mail run. I was there at 8:45 with bells on and was the only one there, so he said ride up front with me. Didn't need to beg me. Well we hit all 5 Islands in Lake Erie, and Rattle Snake Island was defiantly (seat of the pants) adventure of a life time. I will never forget it. Don't miss a ride on the Tin Goose. Iceman
