Model T axle questions
Hi members. I have maybe a
Ford model T front & rear axle I believe. I would like to know what I might have here? (Maybe just a pile of junk) LOL. Would like to find if there is a market for something like these as seen missing parts. I will post it to the for sale side if it's got useable parts? Thank u members for any help identifying. I'm sure I will have more questions
In the near future. I had a friend who was gonna take all these parts to a scrap yard from a clean out. Figure I would Rescue this stuff cause once it's gone it's gone and hopefully someone could use. Looks like it's all ford stuff. |

I see lots of T, TT and early V8 stuff on the trailer. Would certainly be better off being saved.

Brian, I ended up making a deal for all the parts on the trailer. Nothing going to junk yard unless I see something broke

The front axle has hassler shocks on it which are very desirable, though not terribly rare.

Fordwife,I've heard of the hassler spring, I never seen one, guess I got a set now. Thank you for the helpful info. What year cars were these correct to?

Those Hassler dual springs on your front axle are 'Double Hassler' set, made for the heavier Fordor and Sedan. The lighter runabout and tourings got single spring Hassler shock absorbers.
Hasslers came out as aftermarket Ford items in 1915, made for the car, and later for the Ton Truck and were also made for Dodge. The last Hassler style in 1924 were the New "Pancake" Hassler, lower one unit spring, and different arms. The Pancake did away with the multiple strength 'beehive style' springs of the earlier version that were made for each body style Ford. |

Bless you for saving those treasures. Scrap would be a terrible waste Not only is that stuff not made any more, we don.t have the where with all to do so. Granted it may take a long while 'til it all get re-use or re-purposed but where we gotta go?
Myself I'm not far from you if you need space I'd gladly share mine. ( never mind what my wife says, I've seen her toss things she bought two year ago - not allowed to touch my junk-seriously ) Good work, keep it up!
