39 coupe pass door latch
Hi folks
Last night, I believe the spring that pushes the passenger latch back into place to keep door shut either broke or slipped out of place. I was able re-engage it by lifting the interior handle into lock position. After reading other posts on here fixing this appears to be difficult. Since I've never attempted this fix, feedback, drawings or any other suggestions are welcome. I would like to get it fixed asap, as the last left turn to my house the door opened unexpectedly (not good) as I'd like to keep my wife for the whole ride. I will begin a search for a complete replacement. Last edited by adileo; 07-22-2016 at 11:36 AM. |

Pain in the posterior to repair but something you just have to do. Take photos as you go. Peruse these threads to get needed info.

Re: 39 coupe pass door latch
From (frustrating) experience, potentially the most difficult task will be removing the set screw that holds the latch in place, as these have often become corroded/rusted in place after 70+ years.
