Default Hagerty's Hershey Project

Hagerty was building a jail bar grille Ford pickup from, as I understood it, parts sourced at Hershey to drive back home. This is where they were on Friday afternoon. I assume they met their goal? They still had a long way to go when I took these shots.

Not the best photos, but this effort had attracted a good crowd.

I watched them finish on a live stream Sat nite and they did make it home, I think it was Tues. Good publicity! I guess I helped pay for it.

Thanks, Cecil. It was great publicity and a fun idea. They attracted a lot of attention at the show. Did they buy everything there, or did they bring some of the truck with them to Hershey?

Was wondering when they were ready to leave . . . as I saw it on Friday as well and thought to myself that there was no way in Hell they'd be ready by end of day Saturday. Fun idea . . . hope it turned out well for them!

Google Hagerty and I think you can find out all about it. The list what they brought with them. Cab and chassis, brake drums and maybe a bit more. They said they had to have some of it to have it registered and insured and safe for the drive home. I know they got the engine, trans, radiator, wheels, tires, rear fenders(wrong ones), bed, wiring, seats, and much more at the meet.

It was around 11:00pm when they were done with the driving test and declared victory. About 95 hrs total.

They had a live stream running during daylight hours for 3 days, and into the night. It was very interesting to 'drop in' on them and see the progress.

Once the last video stopped, just slightly after they pushed it off the tarp, I didn't hear what happened, so good to hear they made it home.

They had one of their teammates with a radio and doing nothing but going around the swap, gathering the parts they requested. THAT would have been the most tiring job of all!
