Default New Engine, Turlock Swap Meet

Terry and I will be attending the Turlock Swap Meet on January 27 and 28, 2024.

We will have the "New Engine Kit", New 6.5 Head, New Camshaft, and New Flywheel on display.

Our table will be in Building 1, Space 3, which is across the aisle from the snack bar. This building also has flush toilets instead of porta-potties and is a comfortable place to be, if it is cold or rainy.

Please visit us to share your experiences, ask questions, and make comments so the “Builder’s Guide” can be improved. We can also “bench race”, talk about supercharging, turbocharging, football, fishing, etc., etc.

The following discount (plus shipping and tax) will be offered to those who place orders at the Turlock Swap Meet.

The "New Engine Kit" (cylinder block, crankshaft, and connecting rods) is $3850 instead of $4000

The New 6.5 Head is $375 instead of $400

The New Camshaft is $375 instead of $400

The New Flywheel is $350 instead of $375

The bad news is no because we need to order 100's of camshafts at a time and every camshaft needs to be identical to keep the price reasonable.

The good news is that the depth of induction hardening is deep enough to allow the "New Camshaft" to be reground to reduce the lift for overhead valves where the rocker arm ratio needs to be accommodated.e

Another advantage of induction hardening over case hardening is there are no stress risers between the hard and soft areas.

Check with Jim Brierley or others who have reground our camshafts.

John - are these bolts in the standard Burtz block kit or are they additional? If the latter I'd like a set as well.

Thanks.

We are not planning to bring blocks to Turlock. If you place an order there you will get the discounted cost and we will ship from KY. The sales tax will be applied based on the shipping destination.

They are additional and include a rear oil galley plug and cam galley insert to impede oil flow. This will ensure better low RPM oil pressure (depending on the oil pump being used).

Ok, thanks, I’ll stop by your booth and pick up a set.
