1928-29 Ford roadster door bumpers
I just received my door bumper kit A-702610-ES by Vintage Inc.. I figured out some of the installation but I’m curious where the 4 round mushroom shaped bumper go and the 2 L shaped rubber stops go. I screwed 2 of these on the door but can’t figure out where the other 2 go.

The reproduction round ones are often too thick and need to be shaved down some.

Re: 1928-29 Ford roadster door bumpers
if you look in the Fastener handbook this is truly how the originals were shaped, odd as that looks. But I am sure the originals were natural rubber and more flexible.
It still seems like an odd design. The 28-29 bodies were assembled by Ford but not acually stamped out by Ford. Who knows designed this piece. |

I had a feeling that’s where they went but I don’t have any pre-drilled holes. Is it different for a roadster body?

As for the missing holes for the round one to go into the cowl post, not all posts had them. They were absent on both my 1928 Roadster and another cowl post assembly I have (definitely original as pictured below). - |

Here are the instructions that came with mine. The round headed one needed to be shaved down.

On the forward jam, the bumper hole is 2 inches below the hole for the bottom screw of the hinge. The other is on the rear jam, 2 inches below the top of the cab rail.
