40-41 cowl vent question
Does any one have a photo or diagram of the correct placement of the nut/washers on the cowl vent mechanism, 40-41 P/U. I took the vent apart to put in new rubber and I must have gotten the small parts back in incorrectly. The vent will not close tightly nor will it open correctly.
Any help would be appreciated. |

I had that problem with mine, but I figured it out. I can take a picture tomorrow if you like.

Re: 40-41 cowl vent question
Hey Cecil, I'm in the same situation as Mark. I looked in the shop this AM to see if I could help Mark out. Unfortunately all I have is a disassembled bag of parts. If you would be kind enough to send me a picture as well, I'd appreciate it. Thanking you! Dennis/Arkansas

Re: 40-41 cowl vent question
Recently replaced the rubber seal in my '47 and found the seal to be too thick, otherwise the shape was correct as purchased from Mac's. Good Luck: Fred A

Make sure you have the correct hardware. They are shoulder bolts and special washers. I have one set left. |

Re: 40-41 cowl vent question
Thanks, the seal is fine but the cover wont come close enough to the closed position, also some times wont open all of the way. I must have the washers on in the wrong positions. Forgot to take photos before I dis-assembled it.

Re: 40-41 cowl vent question
I am attaching some pictures of the cowl vent on my pickup. I hope they show what you need.
