Rare Model A related parts...
Besides the rare car/truck parts that were issued or assembled on the Model A Fords, just what would you consider that rare Model A related item?
My pick would be Model A/AA issued "Lap Robes" and the "Model A Ford 3 Record Sales Promotion" set used for sales promotions. If you can find either one of these (1 known lap robe that I know of has surfaced) you are doing quite well. Pluck |

Re: Rare Model A related parts...
I think the rarest part must be the cowl band for 1929 Cabriolet, not used on 1928 and is different than any of the other cowl bands used on model A's..

Re: Rare Model A related parts...
Pluck,
Last Monday I visited a well-known restorer in TN whose collection includes a 1928 roadster with serial number (frame and motor) 745. He believes it is the third earliest A known. The headlight lenses on that car have the Ford emblem at the top, instead of the bottom as normally seen on 1928 cars. The owner says he's never seen another example of such a lens. They've got to be pretty rare, wouldn't you say? Last edited by Slotblog; 12-28-2014 at 01:01 PM. |

-The rear splash apron used on the 30 town sedan.
-Most of the wood used in the seats, except the bases. This list can be expanded Terry |

Re: Rare Model A related parts...
With the question being not issued or assembled at the factory I would say the fender lights introduced in 1929 might be among the rare.

Re: Rare Model A related parts...
I think anything with FORD script is rare. I would love to get ahold of a distributor body/cap along with the 4 connectors to the plugs!....

Judging from how he had the description worded, I suspect he had no idea what he had. I bet he was pleasantly surprised with the winning bid!

Re: Rare Model A related parts...
No Doubt about it... I started bidding but had to take my son to BWI.to catch a flight home to Boston.. I really like to wait till the last Sec. to go for it.. I know the person that won them does also.. I really did not need them for my car, (Jan) but good trade stuff to have on hand..

I'll ad my vote for the fender lamps. This thread is the first time I have actually seen one.
