Default Seek Source for Good Direct Swap Modern type Shock Absorbers

Took the 31' Ford rambling wreck out today for a decent back road shake down run. As acquired last year, the entire chassis and drive train looks to have been overhauled by the previous owner. All the bolts, nuts and cotters are still shiny and crisp. When we pulled off the rear brake drums a couple of months ago, all the components seem as NEW. The brake shoes have only lightly scored the inside surface of the drums. This guy must have spent a boodle of money to have the chassis, tranny and engine of this car professionally done.

All the shocks on this car are original type and look to be rebuilt. Though the springs are also NEW, the ride at the back seems more bouncy than expected. Maybe the things are heavy duty truck springs? Have no interest in fiddling around with those quaint tin can shocks. Was thinking at the back of the car to replace the primitive originals with some form of improved hydraulic tube style shocks.

Had a couple of Model A Fords long ago that had been retrofitted with later era shock absorbers along the way. Does anybody have a present day source for direct swap-out modern type shocks?

Thanks in advance . . .

Just about all the vendors sell a kit to convert to modern shocks. Here's Mike's...

Let me know if you want to sell your originals.

I know you said you did not want to fiddle, but are you aware the ride is adjustable by turning a screw on each shock.

I'm yet another fan of the Ken Davis kit. It does change it to a firmer ride. I little stiffer and rougher, but I think it is kind of sporty. Mine corners great.
