how does the knob come off of the window crank on the dash? thanks merle

If you scroll down a couple weeks ago a guy was tryin to remove his it may take some time but it is there maybe beggining of july i need to find one for my truck any pics around of yours thanks mike p

That was me trying to remove the windshield knob. There is a groove in the knob that is not visible under the sheetmetal. I cut a piece of sheet metal and pushed it between the knob and the upper dash sheetmetal and turned the knob to force the small piece of sheet metal between the upper dash and the knob. When the small piece was in place the knob came right off.

does anyone have a picture of the knob? iam not sure but the one on the dash doesnt look stock to me but this is my first 39 so i dont really know. thanks merle

If your knob is like mine, the rubber is off the upper portion of it. Macs has just the rubber grip listed in their catalog, but when I ordered it they were out of stock.

I think I bought the knob from Drake or Sacramento Vintage Ford.

Best shot I have of the window crank on my 38 panel, it's a repop, may not be correct.
If you need a better look at it go to my album and super size it, I suck a bit at this picture posting still.
