Default 1936 grill trim question

bought some after market grill trim pcs for my 36 coupe from bob drake. i noticed they dont line up to the outside of the grill very well. does anyone out there have this problem installing the trim. the grill i have does not have any holes to mount the trim clips that came with the set. the grill looks to be an orginal. any help would be great, thanks

If you have a grille with no holes to mount the trim its not an original grille most likely an Argentina repo
