lost title/need replacement/vin confirm,decode
I have a 1957 Ranch Wagon that has no title, well it has a title, from Arizona, from many years ago. can anyone steer me towards a good title replacement agency? also, on the driver's door pillar, I do not have the std Ford mfg data plate, it's a plain riveted square with 2 sets of alpha numerics, does this sound right? I have not dealt with a vehicle of this age before, and want to have all the legalities straight before I begin the resto. thankyou!

Go to Pendot offices in your area and they can tell you what to do. Good luck.

a good place to get you started...
Tag & Title Tool box Check the site for specifics related to your state. There is a downloadable .PDF document listing the rules and things. NOTE: If the direct URL changes, it was listed under Resources/ Titling & Registration/Tag & Title Toolbox. As always, check the details and laws BEFORE fixing up the vehicle! If you have any confusion, consult an attorney in your area that deals with this area of the legal arena. That site and information is courtesy of SEMA SAN -W

If you have a good Arizona title (even if old), then go to PA Motor Vehicle Dept and ask them what you will need to retitle it in PA. You will need the old title and a bill of sale at least, they will want the sales tax on your purchase.. Are the numbers and letters stamped in the plate on the car? If so, you may have the correct plate with the painting worn off. Last edited by paul2748; 07-03-2013 at 08:58 PM. |
