What era V8 spoked wheel is this?
Howdy. A fella online old chevy truck pal found this in the back of a new project he picked up. I think it looks like an old ford v8 car wheel, but I'm curious what era it might be. Thanks for any suggestions. -W

32 was 18". 33-34 was 17".
That looks like an 18 to me....but the tire will tell that real easy. Neal |

Some old Chevy pickups had wire wheels. I think they looked a little different than Ford wire wheels. Somebody will know.

I was thinking it was Ford by the logo in the center of the cap/wheel cover.
However, I know little about such matters. Thanks. -W

Re: What era V8 spoked wheel is this?
U.S. Royal De Lux 5.25/5.50-17 and comparing the battered hubcap to the pictures that 51-Merc posted it looks like it’s a ’35. Thanks guys, I was the one that dragged it home in the back of my new project. Don’t know what I should do with it, thought of hanging it on the wall with a clock in the middle and tagging it with the model and year. Normally I wouldn’t desecrate an antique but I’m sure there are ton’s of those still around.
Thanks for the response and thanks –W for pointing me here. Denny Graham Sandwich, IL |

Hubcaps are removable and can be transfered. Read post #2 for your answer. '35 wheels are 16".

Re: What era V8 spoked wheel is this?
Didn't mention '35s there Bob, but I see from doing a little google searching that yes, the '35 appears to have been a 16". So, lets regroup, the tire/wheel is 1933-34 and the hubcap is a '35, that sound right??

Re: What era V8 spoked wheel is this?
If it's a 17" 33/34 Wheel, are tires for the wheel readily available, and are they reasonably priced? A guy offered to give me a 33/34 rear end yesterday and I hesitated taking it because of the 17" wheels and because the torque tube was missing and pinion bearing not turning.

Re: What era V8 spoked wheel is this?
Yes tires are available for the 33/34 wheels. I ran them on a 36 pickup/bobber hot rod truck I built. Try Universal tire or Coker.
