Re: A with Tracks
I want that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would use it maybe once a year - but it would look so cool in the yard! I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind..... just as long as I put WHITEWALLS ON IT!!!! (yup - just derailed it into another whitewall thread) |

Re: A with Tracks
An ARPS Snowbird, the driver's side door is usually split just below the lowermost hinge: the upper panel can still open above the track.
Vince Falter at his Fordgarage site has a nice brochure pointing out that Admiral Richard E. Bird brought the Snowbirds to Antartica in 1930. I would copy & paste here (giving full attribution) but Vince has set up his entire site to be "non-copyable." So go yourself to http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/arpssupersnowbird.htm Each year Model T snowbirders have a get-together/meet here in Cow Hampshire. Usually one can count on at least one Model A "Quail" Snowbird in the flock. This year held at Stowe, VT. February 7,8 2015. See http://www.modeltfordsnowmobile.com/ Joe K

Re: A with Tracks
Eight tires x $$$ ! And the rear tires are special cogged tires !!
Now white walls or black walls is the question :-) It would be fun in snow ! |

Yup, a quick search reveals they're still available. https://www.cokertire.com/28x4-75-19...dle-tires.html At $318 a pop (plus shipping) one has to be VERY much into the hobby. Joe K

I'm just normally too lazy to pull up an image like that. Although the ARPS tire above was done using paint. Did you notice Vince's "Fordgarage" watermark in the lower left on his pix? It is well the brochure is out of copyright. Well, it is isn't it? How can one be truly sure? I think Google currently draws the line at 1923 for Google Books. Joe K And I'm too lazy to put my image below to Photobuddy/Farm & Flicker, whatever. So I''ll just put it on using "attach" and let you get your glasses.

Re: A with Tracks
I put one on the rear of the latest Model A Times. It is something what people can come up with to do with a Model A.

11 months of winter and one month of dern hard sledding. This a nice rig though. Adapted to the lifestyle. Some tongue in cheek here - and a bit of envy. Wife says a foot of snow in the driveway so far, and no sign of letting up. Good that it is cold and the snow is light fluffy. Joe K
