Generator Spinning
I'm having an issue with my charging system as it is draining the battery. When I take the belt off the generator and turn the main power on to the car, the generator spins (rather slowly).
The cutout is quite new and has a diode. Any thoughts on the issue? Attached is a pic of the setup. |

Re: Generator Spinning
The cut out is either bad or hooked up incorrectly. You will burn up the generator if you leave it hooked up.

Re: Generator Spinning
It sounds like the diode is either shorted or hooked up backwards. I offer refurbished original Ford cutouts and have the correct one for your generator. PM for details.

Re: Generator Spinning
Generator shouldn't motor through any good cutout. Suspect your diode cutout is wrong polarity.
