front wheel bearing seal
Has anyone replaced B1190 inner front wheel bearing seal with a better seal? I sure would like to install one with a neoprene lip.

Re: front wheel bearing seal
If you take the seal and the dimensions to your local bearing supply house, they could supply you with either a single or double lip seal.

Re: front wheel bearing seal
I understand but not too many bearing houses out here in the desert. I was hoping somebody had done this already & had a number. I guess the metal ring lasted for 80 years so it will probably work for a couple more.
Thanks for the reply Chris. |

I tried to cross that number to Timken (National) and came up blank. Here is a former post about that seal, Mac and C & G has them. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...ighlight=B1190

Re: front wheel bearing seal
A pic or two or three for anyone interested. My time working on this is limited as I'm only at this location for 6 months & it is getting too hot so will be migrating north. Been in the hi 90s, even hit 100 a couple days & that is too hot for me. This place has limited tools & working area so it goes very slow.
Oh yeah this shows what some think is 90 o/o restored, just needs paint & wiring. Ha ha Ha & yes I had somebody check it out before I bought. Being loaded & delivered by Ben D on the HAMB & he had to rent a U-Haul to finish up as his truck broke down 35 miles from the finish line. I think this project was jinxed from the start. Oh well I'll get er dun, maybe |
