Default B Model Locking Steering

I just bought a 32 Ford BB with an American LaFrance Fire Engine body and pump but the owners can not find the keys. How can I disconnect the steering lock so I can at least steer the thing?
Thanks in advanced!

The quickie is to remove the screws holding the column drop and just let it turn with the wheel. The right way would be to drill and tap the press in pin holding the lock in. With the lock out, you can push the locking pin up. One screw is rounded off to prevent this. It takes some effort with vice grips and tools to get the one off.

Not as easy when there is previous damage from drilling the pin off center. I drilled a BB, which has the smaller pin, and tapped to a #6 and pulled a screw with a claw hammer. Came right out. Careful with those BB columns which are nearly the same as passenger car and have value. Good Luck: Fred A
