Rear shock & anti-sway kit for 39 Peekup
Would like some input on the Drake R shock/anti-sway bar kit if you have installed it on your vehicle. Looking to add to my 39 P/U, thanks. Scott

39....I can't tell you about a pickup, but I did put in the front shock conversion kit and it really works great ! Big difference in ride and handling. My rears already had the shock kit installed when I got it. I bought my front kit from Yogi's for $ 160.

I bought my stabilizer and setup from Chassis Engineering for my 39 Ford sedan and i realy like it. I bought front an rear stabilizers. It should be the same for your truck as my car.

Chassis has none in stock and that's why I bought form Yogi's. They are the retailer for Chassis. That was 3 weeks ago, but maybe more in stock now.

Quite laborious, fits right, works great. The tailpipes will need reworking to clear the shocks. Good kit. |

Re: Rear shock & anti-sway kit for 39 Peekup
Go with Chassis Engineering! the fit is awesome! Chassis Engineering kits are truly bolt on kits, they utilize some of the factory holes in the chassis and then you use the already bolted on part for your template to drill the remaining holes. They also have really good instructions to help out the not so mechanically inclined.
I installed the front and rear shock/sway bar kit on my 37' sedan and it made a world of difference. |

Thanks for the input, the kits I have seen are for 35-48 cars & 35-47 pickup for orig. rear end. I would guess made by one manufacture and reped./sold by others. Will check the yogi's

Re: Rear shock & anti-sway kit for 39 Peekup
I misread your question. I bought a front swaybar kit from Chassis engineering for a original front end for my 39 Ford car but the rear kit was for a Ford 8" because i had changed the rear to get several different gear ratios and parts are easier to get. If you do want a front kit they are on ebay at gearheadworld. $142 and free shipping and are from Chassis Enginering. As far as i know they do not make a rear kit for an original Ford rearend.
