Cool License Plates
I found a box of old Missouri license plates, they were 1930, 1931 and 1932 all still in the original wrappers.
I took two of the 1931 plates and put them on my tow truck (1931 Pickup) and my 1931 Speedster. How many times have you seen consecutive numbered historic plates! |

but I did buy two 31 Florida plates that were very close- one ending in 6 and its mate ending in 8. bought the first from a plate dealer in FL, got the 2nd one years later from TX via Fordbarn. did not know the numbers were close until the 2nd one arrived.

Re: Cool License Plates
Awesome! If your state allows YOM plates on the road, those 1932 's will likely fund a pretty nice project.

Re: Cool License Plates
Missouri does allow YOM but I sold the lot to a dealer, kept a few for friends etc. Still have two sets (consecutive numbers) 1931, who knows I may start another project or two.

Re: Cool License Plates
I have seen a set of three CT plates with the SAME number. I think that they were '28, 30 and '31'.

Re: Cool License Plates
About 6 years ago I saw a barn SHINGLED with unused New York plates. Guy would go to the DMV and get all the unissued plated every year. Tops looked great, bottoms, not so good. I'll have to dig out the photos. Barn was torn down about a month later. Bob

Re: Cool License Plates
When I was a kid, growing up in West Virginia, a friend's dad had special ordered plate no. 222-222 for years. They were nailed up in his garage and ranged from the late 20s to about 1950. I sure wish I knew what happened to them. I did go back and look, but they were gone. I figure they got thrown away.
