32 LHD Drive Front Wire Routing
Hi,
I am wiring my LHD 32 roadster and have new replacement harnesses. I do not have a stock radiator. It is a V8. I'm looking for pictures and details of the routing and attachments of the front of the headlight and horn portions of the harness. For example how does the left hand headlight wire and horn portion get routed and clipped? I think the wire to the right headlight was retained in clips at the bottom front of the radiator. I have "The 1932 Ford Books" which has a general diagram on page A-15-4 of volume 1 but no pictures or text of the routing I'm after. Thanks |

Hi Everyone. glennpm, this is not a complete answer, but might be a little helpful.

Re: 32 LHD Drive Front Wire Routing
On a LHD '32, the right side head lamp wire is indeed routed at the bottom of the radiator and held in place by a clips soldered to the top of the bottom tank near each end. The main portion of the headlamp/horn wiring loom is routed underneath the left frame rail and retained by a clip (B-14598, see page A-13-2, Volume 2) attached underneath the top frame rail with the rear screw retaining the front hood clip (hook) on top of the flange of the left front fender. There are no other clips from that point forward as the left side head lamp and horn wiring is routed directly behind the lower radiator shell-to-radiator bracket and the right side wiring as indicated above.

Re: 32 LHD Drive Front Wire Routing
Okay looking at my car and the clip B-14598, how is it routed to the front of the radiator? Does it go through the space between the front cross-member and the frame rail before being clipped to the radiator?

Re: 32 LHD Drive Front Wire Routing
Found a couple of pictures, one from page 5-20 of The Ford Book.
