Default Power gen and fan pulley

Anyone running a Power-Gen with the fan mounted pulley? I would like to put one on my 32 v8 but not sure if the pulley fits and will the power-gen handdle the load. I also think the Fan pully is larger dia. than the one on the Power-Gen.

I have been running one for two years with no problems. Speedway sells a pully that mounts the fan to it.

I'd recommend either the new, reasonably-priced 3-wire 10si clone from http://www.dbelectrical.com/c-8468-110-amp.aspx or the 1-wire http://www.dbelectrical.com/c-8471-110-amp.aspx. I prefer the 3-wire, which can also easily be set up as a one wire by connecting the #2 sensing terminal directly to the output, and leaving the #1 exciter terminal open. The 1-wire setups usually require an rpm bump to get things charging.

As for the fan mount, I use a 3"x3" square of 1/8" steel flatstock mounted between the alternator rotor nut and pully with fan screws at each of the 4 corners.

Powergen is crap dont waste your money. Had one on my truck for less than 2k miles and it decided to take a leap. I went with 1 wire and much happier.

I have a one wire alt now(6 v-pos) with fan pulley. I ran an exiciter wire that i have on a toggle so not to have to rev it up to charge. Everything works fine I just wanted the Generator look for my car being a very traditional roadster. Thanks.

ive had a powergen for 18 months no problem so far, i think early ones were suspect. bought a pulley to suit the stock fan fits fine.
