6 to 12 For 2 brush Fords?
For the early V8 two brush generator, How much is changed inside for 12v? I know I'll need a regulator, which one? and how much current will they produce? 30 amps or less? Luckily I won't have much pulling on the battery, but a small amount of 12v neg for my '40 will be nice. Thanks: Fred A

You could try just hooking up a 12v regulator, see what happens. I've never tried that, some on this site say it works.
What I have done is taking the 6v front plate& pulley and a 1956 up 12v generator- cheap from the swap meet- using the 12v armature and fields with the barrel, trim the rear plate to the barrel, watch the spacing at the front plate to the armature, can be tricky... Karl |

Yep, Karl's right. Just re-polarize the generator for negative ground and hook it up to a 12v regulator set to about 20-25 amps max. Jack E/NJ |
