front mount for 59ab in 32 frame
Will 32 v-8 front motor mounts work on a 59ab to be installed in a 32 frame?

Hotcoupe is absolutely right, as long as you are using the original front cross member.

You will need 49-53 lower hoses.

Re: front mount for 59ab in 32 frame
Not meaning to Hijack here..
But, when I got my car(which was a 4cyl car originally) there was a v8 59ab motor installed and the water pump necks were about 4" from lining up vertically with the radiator necks. Almost like it needed a "S" hose.. The crank hole was lined up perfect with the crank. Is this because it was a 4 cyl crossmember or was there an offset hose? Thanks in advance |

Re: front mount for 59ab in 32 frame
Yes, '32 lower hose was straight! Common cranked hoses to work from are 1940 and 1949 Ford ones...
Mounts basically fit the late engine...you will probably have slight interference with edges of waterpums--I would grind the pumps simply because radically less valuable than the mounts. The lower pump pulley location on the 59 requires a very slight mount notch to clear the belt where it goes past...if you fit this area carefully, the notch can be very slight and entirely on the inner edge of the mount forging. Too many out there have been roughly and excessivel ground because someone was too lazy to check and make multiple trips to the grinder... |

Except for fairly rare early 1932's, 4 and 8 front crossmembers are the same.

Re: front mount for 59ab in 32 frame
Not sure if this will apply to your 32 but I bought front motor mount adaptors for my 34 for a 59ab. from what im told ford even had a part # for them since many swaps were made back in the day. They are no more than a u shaped bracket that bolts to stock mount to raise engine slightly and line up to 59ab without cutting a slot. Ken

Re: front mount for 59ab in 32 frame
Ford supplied those with a 41A number; the postwar parts catalogs show them in kits containing proper crank pulley, hoses, etc. to fit the 24 stud replacement engines into '36-back V8's. Useful back through 1933. '32 mounts work direct from block holes that remained the same '32-53, so did not need spacers.
