Spindle bolt dumb question 40 Ford
Starting to reassemble the 1940 front end that will be going into my new project 32 Rdstr.
Took it apart a month ago and now I have forgotten hot to reassemble the spindle bolts. My 1946 parts manual shows a great exploded view. With that to help me I am good for all but one thing: The little ball bearing that goes on the bottom between the spindle and the axle end, DOES THE OPEN CUP GO ON FACING DOWN? With the open side of the bearing housing, it would seem it would have to be open on the bottom to not collect water. Really wonderful to have this forum with the vast accumulated knowledge of so many people who are willing to share their memories with us old codgers. Bill |

Yes, fit it so it does not fill with water - open side down.
