Default round wire staples where do you get them?

I'm fitting the sheet metal on my 40 Std coupe. I'd like to know where to get the round wire staples that hold the webbing between the front inner fenders and the front fenders. Also does the upper radiator support brace fit between the inner panel and the "Y" ,or to the inside of the "Y" ?

Last time I needed some, I made them using S.S. welding wire.

I did the same as '51 Merc suggests. Stainless Steel wire. Find a wire cutter or needle nose pliers with about the same dimensions as you need, cut to length and fold each end over. This has been discussed on this site before and if I recall they couldn't be found. Also Stainless is forever.

Give me a few days. I'm visiting the kids in Washington. I should have some from the repop brand window channel kits I use for the tri five cars. Might be in Danchuck catalogue.

Stainless steel safety wire is available in a number of sizes like .020", .025", .032", and .040" and is generally in annealed state that allows for easy shaping. The stuff is available in rolls from aviation sources such as Aircraft Spruce & Specialty. It would be less likely to crack or break in some forming situations but welding wire is also relatively soft.

Thanks, I just ordered from restoration specialists. I also found a couple of other handy little items on the site,

Thanks to everyone who suggested stainless rod; a good idea. I'm at a place now where I need not to have to make everything.
