I have been expermenting with both electrolisis and Beet pulp for removing rust. The Beet pulp is very slow on heavy encrustasions of rust. But the electro--- is line of sight. Both work but both have some drawbacks. I have not been able to find a source for Black Strap Molassas so have not tried that.

My question: Has anyone ever soaked a complete 8BA block in Beet pulp? Did it remove rust in the water chambers of the block? How did you keep the Beet pulp pieces from getting stuck inside the water jackets? I was thinking of wraping the whole block in screen wire or 1/4" hardware cloth.

My last question, is the water jackets on the 8BA two completly seperate systems, one on left side and one on right side or is it interconnected inside the block?

It has been a long time since I raced a 59A in a 34 coupe on the dirt tracks.

The water systems in the block are entirely separate.
Heads too.
Only in the radiator is the water allowed to mix.
