Default Holley 94 part id. Distrib vacuum dealie?

(Ive got pictures of this car and the mystery part in my album. Haven’t figured out how to get the pics in a post yet. )

I’m attempting a rebuild on a holley (ford) 94 carb from my buddys 46 merc woody. Ive pretty much figured out why it wasn’t getting much fuel into the manifold but theres one part I havent figured out.

There is a cylindrical part that attaches by one of the top screws. At its top it looks similar to a brass tire valve. I believe a vacuum line attached there to run advance. On the bottom of the part is a small metal tube that went up
And over this piece into a tiny hole on the float bowl. It looks like it was stuck into the hole that leads to the accelerator pump chamber.

Hopefully that makes sense to someone. Is that tube supposed to end up in the pump inlet hole? Or????

Does it look like this?
OK I see it in your album. It's for a Southwind gasoline heater.

As confirmed above, the part is not original to the carb and can be eliminated. The hole can be plugged, as it is not needed as additional venting. A word about rebuilding, modern power valves are not compatible at the mounting surface, having their shoulders rounded off while the originals were squared off flat. Your options are to machine that surface flat, or to obtain a power valve that's already modified. Daytona Parts is one supplier to rely on for this part. Another hint, don't use the fiber accelerator valve supplied with some rebuild kits. Use the original leather or make your own, to be saturated with motor oil.
